The main aim of this workshop is to analyze processes of identification and analysis of conceptual metaphors of Latin American political discourses through practical activities in order to share and promote studies in this area.
The workshop will divided into three sections. First, participants will receive a lecture on the theoretical basis, origin, structure, classifications and sub-classifications of conceptual metaphors through a sociocognitive approach and a corpus linguistics approach to processing both qualitative and quantitative data. Secondly, examples of metaphors identified in various discourses will be presented by applying the aforementioned processes. Finally, a practice will be carried out using the process of identifying metaphors in discourses from different fields.
The workshop is aimed at students and researchers who wish to analyze metaphors in different types of discourses.
